Yeah seen that, the problem is to find struts in the right size that fits, and some control board for them since the bmw i3 does now have one orginal. Also good to know which "gear" is in. Don't want the car to open the tailgate on the road if the footsensor get a false reading.

I would love to have a electric tailgate to my i3. With a footsensor so you can swipe your foot under if you carry bags etc. Any ideas where to start? If i buy the right size of the struts and a sensor for the foot and last a control ship i would be ok right? I think I also need some way to...
