12V battery issue... maybe overcharging issue?

What would cause an overcharging issue?

12V battery issue... maybe overcharging issue?

In May 2020 I had the 12V battery replaced in my car under warranty. Last friday I smell a sulfur smell coming in the climate intake vents. A quick internet search said this was almost certainly the 12v battery, but being an electric car and fires being scary I took it to the closest dealer...

Tesla Allowing CCS Charging at Superchargers!

Ideally tesla would sell an adapter you'd keep, that would link to a telsa account, for billing. Plug adapter into car, plug tesla cable into adapter, charging starts and bills to your tesla account, like with a tesla car.

Seat heater stops working every ~one drive in 20

That looks like exactly what I'll do. Thanks!

Seat heater stops working every ~one drive in 20

So, randomly, so far only at seat heater level 3, my seat heater will turn off and not work for the rest of the duration of the drive. Next drive it's as if nothing happened-- works perfectly. I assume this means it's not a short in the seat heater pad, as in other cars a short in the seat...

Big Brake Kit for i3 ?

I can't really see any point to the road you're going down. The cooling system of the engine gives up long before the brakes. Super easy to get into reduced power on back roads or highway. It's just not a car that makes sense to make more sporty.

    Routine re-gas of aircon?

If you need a yearly recharge, you system is leaking (failed) and needs to be repaired. Aka, no.

I took my 2014 i3 in for a battery capacity check and BMW added capacity to my battery

So the software update increases how much you can charge your battery, from 66% to 80%? I don't think I've seen that laid out before.

Buying an i3 for a high school car??

Seems perfectly suited to a high schooler to me. Super safe (including compared to the leaf), not stupidly fast, and the range needs are sufficient. And... not lame. I would not buy a 2014 if you can help it. 2017 and later have significantly better battery pack longevity, so if they're in the...

Keeping the i3, Bought an ID.4...

100% agreed. Tesla owners referring to Model 3s as M3s just add confusion, and leaves car enthusiasts disappointed.

What is the charge rate of reduced speed 120V charging?

My only 120v charger is the stock, US spec occasional use charger that came with the car.

What is the charge rate of reduced speed 120V charging?

Currently constructing a house, and will be living in an apartment in the interim. There's only one plug I can use (120V), and it pops the breaker if I don't use the reduced rate option. What is the KW/h rate, when you're in reduced rate on 120V? Thanks!

    bmw i3 important question

i3s is less efficient than the regular i3 because of the wider tires and body work-- so you should get less range than him.

    Using the i3 to Tow

You're talking about overloading by a ton over spec, I'm talking about towing less than half a ton, within spec. Not sure of relevance.

    Using the i3 to Tow

The REx engine (I don't have) weights ~300 lbs, so presumably I could have that much tongue weight before even being heavier than "stock" (including the tires). The drivetrain limits power based on temperature. I hit that limit almost every time I'm on the highway, as it's can't sustain 94mph...

    BMW i3 Reliability

In the 60,000 miles of my 2017 BEV's life (so far), it has needed tires and a 12v battery. Can't complain. The REx seems to be responsible for 90% of i3 reliability issues. Avoid that and get a 2016+ car, and you should have a pretty seamless experience.
