Very active...but sometimes the admins have other things to do ;-)

    Traffic jam assist retro

Thanks, that answered my question regarding the steering wheel buttons.

    Traffic jam assist retro

I'm interested as well - what would the approximate price be for a plug and play module? Does the module change the functionality of any of the steering wheel buttons?

    DC charging, how fast?

I doubt that it's cold enough in south Florida to cause any reduction in charging speed. Even when I've done several back to back DCFC sessions after long highway trips, I don't think I've seen charge rates as low as 20kW at low SoC. 50kW units that only provide 38-40kW are very common, so...

    DC charging, how fast?

20kW at what SoC? How are you determining the charge rate? What specific (ABB/Efacec/BTC/etc) charging station are you using? The small, blue BMW DCFC boxes are only 24kW units. As noted above, if your battery is hot or cold, or if the DCFC unit is in need of repair, you may see lower charging...

    Jack points

The edges of the pad are normally much wider as well. The relatively thin/sharp edges on the i3 pads definitely would've contributed to the issue you had. I've lifted our i3s several times with thick, flat nylon-reinforced rubber pieces under the pads without any issues, but I wouldn't try it...

    Jack points

You're correct - the voids inside the lifting pads on the i3 are taller/deeper than any other BMW model I've owned.

    What is my software/firmware version?

This is the first I've heard of this, so maybe there's an issue with the sensor/latch on the charging door of your car? Which specific software version are you on?

Top half of my ePower semi-circle has gone dark; ltd accel

They might have made minor revisions to the power limiting functionality, but nothing significant. The behavior you're seeing on the instrument cluster has been in place since the early software versions. Perhaps your parking situation has changed? I've had the car limit power after sitting...

Top half of my ePower semi-circle has gone dark; ltd accel

This is normally due to temperature - it takes a while for the battery to warm up even after the ambient temps increase. Preconditioning will help prevent this being an issue.

    EP600 vs EP500

I've done several thousand miles on the EP600s (19"), but have the EP500s (20") on my car. You get better grip in exchange for faster wear by moving to the EP500s. Of course, being summer tires, the EP500s shouldn't really be used in snow. They are perfectly fine, although less sticky, in cold...

no DC quick charge option on my used 2014 i3 REX

Yes, there's potential for some variation based on those factors, but it's less of a concern with a thermally managed pack. Over many tests we've performed locally, with several different i3s and DCFC units, it has happened consistently at around 92%. The Spark EV stays above L2 rates even...

no DC quick charge option on my used 2014 i3 REX

I'm not suggesting that anyone make a habit of staying connected to a DCFC while above 80%, particularly if others are waiting, but the usual point where a DCFC drops to L2 (7kW) speeds on an i3 is around 92%.

    Ordered Winter Tires

If the 5.5" rim is acceptable for the 155 width tires, they need to update their spec sheets - both the Blizzak and Nokian list the max width as 5". Blizzak LM500: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.jsp?tireMake=Bridgestone&tireModel=Blizzak+LM-500&partnum=57QR9LM500 Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2...

Chevy Bolt begins production “in just a few short months”

Thanks - this is different from Owner's Choice in the US, which offers a return and "walk away" option at the end of the term, as is the case with a lease.

Garage broke my J1772 charge port!

I agree - it appears that it should work, unless there's additional damage that's not visible.

Garage broke my J1772 charge port!

Here's a thread about it from last year on the Facebook group, if you're a member: https://www.facebook.com/groups/BMWi3/permalink/723032204437310/ Link to join the group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/BMWi3/ Looks like the quote to repair a cracked port at the time came to $1700.

    Software Update is 3.56.4.003

Correct, it's not standard practice to update to the latest software as part of delivery.
