Personally, I did not fit a Garmin, but some other brand. What I did however is tucking the cable via the mirror under the ceiling then down the right hand A pillar via the underside of the dashboard, straight in the 12v port you'll find hidden in the middle of the dashboard on the underside.

Wouldn't it be worth to just order a new compressor and have an i3 trained indie tech do the swap? I wouldn't be comfortable driving around with the old compressor as the car is also using it to condition the battery (which may be less influenceable by the driver).

Last year I've bought a BlackVue DR590-1CH and was able to stick it on the window just behind the rear view mirror. I was able to completely hide the cabling behind the edge of the headliner, through the bottom of the dashboard to plug into the 12V socket under the dashboard.

Got my plain black Rearguard and it fits perfectly, there's no indication at all it wasn't factory fitted.

Hey fellow Dutchie! The black paint is not really sturdy, if the rest of the car has metallic paint, the black parts don't have this. An idea good be to wrap the bonnet, this is what I've contemplated but ultimately didn't choose to do.
