Recommendations for Reliable Independent i3 Mechanics in L.A.?

A while back, someone asked for recommendations for independent i3 mechanics in the Bay Area... ...I have the same question about the L.A. area. I live in Glendale, just north of downtown L.A., between the San Fernando Valley and the San Gabriel Valley. I still have 11 months left on my CPO...

    2017 REx shows engine light

Thought I'd reply with what the solution turned out to be...according to the Pacific BMW Service Dept. Apparently, there was a glitch generated by a sensor within the A/C compressor that caused the engine light to illuminate. That's exactly the way it was explained to me...a "glitch." By...

    2017 REx shows engine light

Thanks! Makes sense that things falling under the broad umbrella of “emissions” would kick off a “check engine” light. We haven’t been overfilling the gas tank (at least not the one-and-only time we’ve had to put gas in it), but I’ll definitely take a look at the gasket and seal on the filler cap!

    2017 REx shows engine light

I recently got my (new to me) CPO 2017 i3 REx last week, and I've been loving it. The new wrinkle, however, is that I just started seeing an ENGINE light on the display panel behind the steering wheel. I know the REx engine *has* worked...it kicked in a couple times on the way back from the...

Bay Area to L.A. in a REx...newbie seeks trip advice

Thanks, @eNate! I plan on charging up in Butttonwillow, which *should* get me at least UP the Grapevine. I might need a top-up for the rest of the way home, and there's a new charging station in Frazier Park, which should do the trick. At least I'll get real-world experience in figuring out...

Bay Area to L.A. in a REx...newbie seeks trip advice

Thanks, @JohnKelly. Got Plugshare, set up a Chargepoint account. From what I can tell, if I want to drive the whole route as electrically as possible, I'll have to stop at DC fast chargers 3 or 4 times. I know my range will depend on driving style, weather, and hills vs. flat. I'm not...

Bay Area to L.A. in a REx...newbie seeks trip advice

Hi, all... I'm picking up a new-to-me 94Ah REx in the Bay Area this weekend and driving it down to L.A., I-280 east to 101 south to I-5 south. I've never done this in an electric. Oh, and I'm TOTALLY new to electrics. I'd appreciate any and all advice for this route... where/when to...

How can I confirm that an i3 REx has a wide-screen center display?

Hi, all. I'm in Southern California, looking to purchase a used 2017 i3 REx. I've seen both narrow and wide-screen center displays at various trim levels. Other than actually eyeballing the interior, is there an option I can check or specify to make sure I get an i3 REx with a WIDE-SCREEN...
