    Good idea, thanks!

    Delayed charging Debacle

Did you check the charge limit in the Octopus app? I've only recently discovered that the Octopus app (on iPhone and iPad) had way more information and control than the Octopus website. I suspect that the tech was right to blame factors outside BMW's control: there are the chargepoint control...

Going to out of town for a week - leave plugged in or unplugged

I’ve found that 10 to 80 paragraph at last, thanks.

    Hello!

    It looks great!

What year allowed more control over regen?

I see no point in adjusting the regen power; my right foot does the modulating for me and if my shin becomes tired I set the Cruise Control, Adaptive or otherwise. I was with my son for test drive of a Mercedes GLC a few months ago and found the adjustment superfluous.

Going to out of town for a week - leave plugged in or unplugged

Would you show us where that advice from BMW can be found? I’ve not found any advice from BMW about levels of charging, or indeed the best charging rates.

BMW “Service due” email wrong – UK

I understand that, but I'm a little miffed that they think that I might be that stupid :)

BMW “Service due” email wrong – UK

Yes, I understood that: we received the car in September, but the service is due in July. But the emails say “now” :-)

BMW “Service due” email wrong – UK

Our 22 i3 is due its first service in July, but I have twice received “service due” emails from my local dealer. I complained the first time and the dealer call centre (Vertu) informed me that the date came from BMW and that they’d correct it. Now I’ve had a second email with the same message...

    Replacing my i3 REx 2015

Thanks. I'm glad that you got a good result.

12 volt battery in later i3s--watch out

Yes it is :-) The battery is not easily accessible for attaching a charger (apart from the possible harm to the electronics which I didn't know about before I posted), so I wondered if there were charging terminals easily accessible. My BMW X3 has its battery in the bottom of the boot (trunk)...

Carrying Cargo 'n Things with Our i3's...

Brave man. But what a versatile vehicle.

    Replacing my i3 REx 2015

I’m glad to see that happiness :-). Off topic, but what do you think of your 225xe? I have a diesel X3 which is for towing and longer distances/more luggage, but I’m interested in the 2 series.

    Unintended acceleration

The habit of using the parking brake when stationary is a good one.

    Hi Guys,

I like that car as well, but I read some difficult stuff about that car and similar in the Guardian this morning: https://www.theguardian.com/money/2024/feb/24/smart-keys-car-crime-thieves-hi-tech-arms-race

Thank you. I'll leave well alone :-)

12 volt battery in later i3s--watch out

I haven't found a way to charge the 12v battery with a charger; my X3 has terminals under the bonnet with which I can charge the 12v battery, which is in the boot).

12 volt battery in later i3s--watch out

I don't understand how your driving habits will affect the charge of the 12v battery: it's charged from the traction battery, not by an alternator while driving. Is there something in the system that reduces the tendency of the HV battery to keep the 12v battery charged?

    Scheduled depart and climate questions.

The seats warm up very quickly. I turn mine off after about one minute from button press – but the temperature in southern England is not very low.

    Regenerative braking question

the part of the manual that I read a few days ago mentioned "coasting" with reference to having selected Neutral, so I don't think that the translation is that far out. And if you have the power meter centred you are putting nothing in but getting nothing out, so a downhill (or following wind...
