Which method did you use to remove the airbag? The factory manual method, or the pdf file posted by Chris? How did it go? I am planning on a air bag removal soon. Did you disconnect both the 12v battery and the traction battery? I watch those youtube videos where they do neither.

I've watched all his videos on the removal of the airbag and steering wheel. I ordered a custom made carbon fiber and leather wheel I am dying to install. Notice in all his video, he always has power on. The car is not asleep. You can see the emergence flasher light on when the car is awake...

Disconnect the High Voltage system and 12v battery. Remove the steering wheel. Remove the steering column control panel. Underneath that is 3 screws to remove the gear selector. You will need to unplug the connector.

I pulled the rear door cards and the factory speaker wires were already there. I couldn't get them to work, though. Maybe with the match amp upgrade? There is a guy doing an extensive, deep upgrade to his i3 over on one of the other BMW forums. I think he's trying to install the complete HK...
