When I give the car a departure time and set the preconditioning option, what actually happens?

Does it just turn the climate control on 30 minutes before you leave? I'd like it to "over-heat" to really warm the car up and I'd like it to fire up the windscreen de-mister/de-froster if it's icy. Does it do this automatically or do I need to leave it the night before with the climate control set high and the demist button set to go?

I've only tried to pre-con once - and I'm not 100% certain it even came on. Certainly, the car wasn't toasty warm when I go in.

I don't think it is possible to include demist in the preheat routine.

But you could try to set the temperature on 25 or 28°C when leaving the car the night before. In theory, this will be the temperature the system will try to set when preconditioning.

I must confess that I did not try this myself. Besides, the manual says that temperature when preconditioning is set relative to outside temperature ...
