I've just had confirmation from BMW i that my order was built on 27th December :)

I've been quoted a delivery date of the 20th Jan by the dealership.

If anyone's interested the spec is:
- Non-REX
- Ionic Silver
- Loft
- 428 Alloys (has anyone not ordered these?!)
- Pro. Navigation (FOC)
- DC rapid charge
- Heat pump
- Winter pack
- Comfort access

Was passing my dealer so decided to pop in and check on progress of my week 52 car. It now exists, and is on a transporter heading towards the docks with collection during week 3. Getting very excited!

Now I'm getting grumpy.

Ordered the first day you could order and I have a WK2/WK4.

Is it wrong that I've started counting in hours rather than days

Oh well, once it's arrived, the wait will soon be forgotten I guess. You guys with wk52 builds, are they BEV or the REX?

When did you order it?

I placed a deposit to "guarantee an early slot in the build queue" in June last year, I believe I confirmed the spec in late July/early August.

Mine's a BEV, couldn't deal with the 0.7 second loss in performance ;)

Hi Jamie,

I placed a £1000 deposit in June too. Then configured the Spec the day it was available for configuration. Ordered mine from Specialist Cars in Stevenage, what about you?

My daily commute is about 90 miles (give or take a few depending on the route) hence it's only REX that's practical for me. I'm reasonably confident that the 0.7 seconds won't disappoint :)

To be honest, I'm looking forward to the early UK reviews and reports coming in from real people rather than Journo's.

Not sure why we have different dates as my car is also a Specialist Stevenage car deposit placed in early July and proper order made on 1st official day. Must be down to different spec? My car is a BEV in solar orange with Suite, Winter Package, 428 wheels, Sunroof Cold weather prep, LED lights, Harmon KArdon, and Prof Nav,

David

Hi David,

You must be the other chap that Nigel said ordered Solar Orange. Like you say, it must be down to Spec...looks like REX is the guilty party, you do have an almost identical car apart from REX and parking assist.

Solar Orange
REX
Suite
Winter package
428 wheels
Sunroof
Led lights
Pro Nav
Park assist

Chris.

Probably due to it being a REX - I was given the impression when I ordered that the REX models would take longer to fulfil.

Mine was ordered from Coopers BMW in Reading :)

Yes I am indeed the person Nigel is referring to. I tried to add parking assist after I placed the order but Nigel told me that this could mean date slipping so didn't take the risk. Glad I went for Suite interior as there was a demonstrator in the car park today with a loft interior which was already looking a little tatty with stained seats.

That's not great to hear (as mine's loft) but I presume if it wears overly quickly then it'll be considered a manufacturing defect :)

I had the same problem with the LED lights - the risk of losing the free professional navigation upgrade was too great!

I think it is just a problem with light cloth seats. I have them on my Panda and they do stain every tine I get in with wet clothes. I purchased a can of fabric cleaner spray from Lakeland which I use regularly and it manages to remove the water stains.

That's not a huge problem then, my current car normally goes less than 2 weeks between a clean.

I thought the loft / lodge interiors looked a bit more futuristic than the more traditional dark leather interior (even though the leather itself has some great eco credentials). Wasn't sure on the tan leather on the lodge interior though (hence loft)!

One of the surprising things was the jump from the base atelier (black clothe) interior to loft - £1000, the gap between lodge and suite is only £500.

Just been given a date of the 16th January from the dealer as when they will receive the car.

Obviously there's the finance, registration, part-ex and other things to sort out after that date however I'm hopeful I will be able to collect it on the 18th/19th! :D

Jamie, that's awesome news, you can officially start counting the hours down. :)

Just been told mine's due at the dealer middle of next week, and that if they turn it round quickly I could be taking delivery next Saturday! Yet to be confirmed though, so a pinch of salt being taken as I write :)

Still no wallbox survey though - Schneider being very slow.

Brilliant Andy, going to be one of the first customer deliveries in the UK for sure.

I've found Schneider to be really good so far (although my wallbox isn't yet installed). They've been helping me with figuring out how close I am to max capacity and advised upgrading the incoming fuse, adding an isolator etc. Also discussing options about how to route the cable as it's quite a long run from my RCD to the garage. I guess they will be pretty busy though now that deliveries are getting very close. At least you have the 10A 3-pin socket option if you don't get it done before your car arrives.

I'd definitely take that with a pinch of salt! My delivery date has slipped from the 16th to the 23rd, apparently its normal that it fluctuates when its sitting at the dock though...
