I acquired a Level 2 charger (NEMA 10-30) and used it to charge my car overnight.
However, after two days, my car failed to start, leading to me having it towed.
According to BMW, there were faults in the high-voltage battery that ultimately affected the low-voltage battery, prompting them to replace individual cell module control units and the wiring harness.

I am now questioning whether the charger I purchased may have been the cause.
If I use this charger to charge my i3 again and encounter a similar issue, would BMW still address and fix the problem under warranty?

Your L2 device is not the "charger". The car controls the charging. The L2 device is just a cable with a switch in it. The car controls all aspects of the charging.

Just tagging on to what @EvanstonI3 wrote, the power being supplied to your car under L1 and L2 charging is exactly what the local utility is supplying to your main electrical panel, unconditioned. The first modification to line current / line voltage occurs at the in-car charger.
