Standard HIFI upgrade

Hi. Has anyone upgraded their standard HIFI speakers and amplifier? I'm looking to replace the speakers because I've had enough of the poor quality sound. I was thinking of getting the Bavsound stage one speaker upgrade as they fit the car, but I've read that they don't sound good unless the amplifier is also replaced. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks in advance :)

Do a forum search...there are posts that describe the process and results.

I did try that before posting, but nothing relevant came up. I'd appreciate if you could send me relevant links.

Using a Pioneer under seat subwoofer: Adding subwoofer to a base non-HK system?

Adding an actual subwoofer... this is tapping into the wires directly which I don't 100% recommend: Actual Subwoofer

How to get power from 12V system? Try the fuse panel: 12 volt battery in parallel to the existing 12 volt batt

My approach in my i3 non-HK is to use existing HiFi/iDrive adapters. I looked up the pinout and it matches the F series cars:

i3s A37 HiFi amplifier pinout: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/i01- ... 1VnXX3TRY3
F30 A37 HiFi amplifier pinout: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/f30- ... m/H1d8bmhX

The adapter I used is https://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E90-F10-F2 ... 26250a259d which is very similar to http://technicpnp.com/product-category/ ... eo-i3-i01/ options...

Now, with this I purchased a breakout cable to run a dedicated amplifier. The speakers are 4" shallow mount, which I've dealt with in my E92. Using speaker adapters, you can run any 4" speaker in the doors as long as they are shallow enough. The tweeters will have to use custom pods or purchase of the HK a pillar covers (part numbers on realoem)...

My notes, including amps and speaker choices, are in Evernote: https://www.evernote.com/l/ABNnsOr_DPBJ ... XomuVtCgo/

This is great info. Thank you so much. I'm really grateful and so excited to improve the sound quality :) 🙏

Re: Standard HIFI upgrade

ETON makes bmw replacement speakers, but has no mention of the i3 in their "Compatibility guide" - https://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/p ... y-List.pdf

I am looking to replace the speakers in my "standard audio" 2014 BMW i3. I think ETON will be an improvement.
I see a couple of possible speakers on madisound.com:
Eton BMW Speaker Upgrade B100XT - https://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/E ... 0-xt-pair/
Eton BMW Speaker Upgrade B100XW - https://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/E ... 0-xw-pair/

Maybe one of these will work as a direct replacement?
Maybe neither?
Has anyone on here tried either of these?
