Why we aren't ordering an i3

It is interesting how people's experience in the i3 differ so much. Having drive mainly softly sprung french cars, I was all prepared for the i3 to be a really hard ride but was actually pleasantly surprised. I found the seats in the front comfortable and like the styling. And the Rex removed...

Just back from the test drive

I too took a test drive from the Guildford dealership taking the car to Farnham and back across the hogs back. The good news for me was the that ride quality was more than acceptable. My 18year old was in the back and discovered what I had in the showroom, namely that you cannot pop your feet...

    BMW I3 REx driven everywhere

I had heard from replies to my 'traffic jam on an incline' thread that the i3 didn't have hill hold assist. I am very pleased to hear that it has.

    Another good review

I confirmed with my BMW dealer today - it is £40 per month not per year.

    Confirmed UK build date

I'll tell you my quote. I asked for a quote on a base model (white) with just a 5 year service pack (£395) and the winter pack (£260). £1000 deposit, 48 month finance. £500 a month on lease and £515 on PCP with a balloon payment at the end. Both were based in 12k per annum. My Megane...

White with all four wheel types

I created a montage of a white i3 with each wheel type. Just can't make my mind up! https://app.box.com/s/i9vmuj0b0o70ji8habn9

    Another good review

Also some nice pictures in this review. How wonderful to see an i3 Rex parked on a double-yellow line in the rain! It feels more tangible suddenly! http://www.pocket-lint.com/r/s/1058x/assets/images/phpngyhu8.jpg

    BMW i3 v3 M3 in Drag Race

This is fab isn't it! And I found another view from this same test here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oISF3Selhbk Different drivers though. This time it looks like the i3 beat the M3 completely.

    Another good review

Another very positive review coming out of the Brands Hatch event. Having driven a Leaf - I know exactly what they mean when they say that driving any ICE car after an electric 'feels depressingly like going back to a previous century'. I REALLY want to try one now. 8 days 'til my test...

    Charging options and cables

Thanks folks. I think fast charging should be enough for me then, with the Rex.

Anybody booked their UK test drive

I have a test drive at 2pm Monday 18th. Excited!

    Traffic Jam on an incline

I have my test drive on Monday 18th Nov. I'll be finding a hill to check it out. Apparently, the regenerative braking will bring the car to a standstill even going downhill. So I wonder what happens? You take your foot off the accelerator and the car comes gently to a halt and...... then...

    Charging options and cables

Does anyone know whether, if i go for the rapid charge option, I could charge at the ecotricity charge point at South Mimms? I know I could in a Leaf, but I'm not clear on the cable/socket compatibility with the i3?

Standard Bluetooth with USB audio interface

Does anyone know how the Standard Bluetooth with USB audio interface will work with a Galaxy S2 smartphone? I'm assuming that I can receive calls and the phone audio will be piped through the car's speakers? Likewise - does the car have a microphone to pick up my voice, or does it use the...

    Traffic Jam on an incline

Assuming one does not opt for the £790 Driving Assistant Plus option, I am trying to work out how the i3 will perform in a traffic jam on an uphill stretch of road. If we start by cruising up to the back of the queue and assume we can stop by just using the one pedal mode, I wonder what happens...
