Did the same thing, reversed into a gate post. Glass broken and black plastic mirror chassis bit too. Took apart and only needed new glass and plastic chassis.
£65 for glass £30 for plastic but. Took about 30mins to change. Good as new.
I do an 86 mile round trip commute from near Swindon to Bath centre every day. 9 miles each end on fast A-roads and the big bit in the middle on M4 motorway. I have a 2014 BEV i3 with the heat pump.
Right now in the summer, if I stick to 65mph on motorway bit, I can 'just about' use 50% of...
!!! - Was feeling daft having got the service element for my i3 lease £23 a month (x 36 = £828), however I've had two flat tyres replaced and will have one (1st) service this summer and probably another 2 tires from wear so working out not to bad.
On the tyre front, could only get tyres from...
Same story here - local BMW dealer in Hungerford, not an 'i' specialist, got one next day (just got car back today this is the second flat replaced in same way). Not sure on cost as it's a lease car so tyres are included in maintenance contract - Kwik fit etc were no use!
BMW assist and lease...
Sounds like the emergency battery cut off kicked in?!
I remember reading somewhere that in an airbag deployment situation the high voltage battery physically disconnects itself. Maybe some glitch caused this to deploy? Would explain the noise on breakdown too.
I reckon getting 42 miles is entirely possible - however ENGAGING WITH A SHOUTY OP AND THIER THREAD will likely be unproductive.
Walk away from the screaming click bait ....
:)
I think the negative responses might be due to the sweeping statements that were clearly incorrect to the many people, like myself (Absolutely DANGEROUS!, CoG), who totally nerded out on the engineering detail of the i3 prior to order and delivery. I do find it a little annoying when buyers...
i3 BEV doesn't come with the blue cable - BMW price with VAT is actually as cheap as, or better than the other places listed - I like the auto curl-up-ness it has (automatically forms into a spiral), the bag is good to have too. Go blue!
Nope, someone hit it while parked, then cleared off without leaving details.
Lights are definitely bonded to glass and from what I can see only way to get to them is to de-bond the whole glass piece from the plastic tailgate frame!
They had to replace the whole tailgate on mine. The way the lights are bonded to the glass and the glass to the plastic tailgate makes it understandable, would be a nightmare to line them all up.
....EV charger!
My nearest CCS charger has been off for a little while. Ecotricity have just found the fault.

Agreed, that cable to the mains socket looks really short compared to mine. Hanging like that will but some pressure on the pins in the socket and could lead to a less than perfect connection = heat.
Do the US chargers have three pins on the plug or just two?
I know when I'm in the US the two...
I woudn't recommend you do this on the road, you may also permanently damage your car. Do NOT do what I describe below!
>Turn ignition on
>Hold down the trip reset button on the side of the speed readout display (I didn't know it was there until someone told me about this technique).
>A menu...
