    REx Class Action Lawsuit

Actually, plaintiff lawyers were quite busy in all of those situations. I'll disagree that corporations behave differently than individuals. History is full of examples where individuals made a decision to be greedy, selfish and to enhance/protect themselves at the expense of others. Every...

    REx Class Action Lawsuit

Quote >> My opinion, if you regularly need the REx, the i3 may not be the best car for you in the first place. Bingo! The i3 was designed for a specific purpose -- urban driving. Interesting how many people buy a product -- any product -- knowing full well that it was designed for a specific...

    Car Insurance For Electric Cars

I've been a commercial insurance broker for about 40 years. Roughly speaking, about two-thirds of your car insurance premium is tied to liability coverage -- that's the coverage for what you would owe others for bodily injury, death or property damage if you are at-fault in an accident and they...

SF BMW is out of their mind...$5k markup on 2015's

Don't think they'd qualify as crazy if they sell the cars!

BMW: dont try to fix whoop-whoop with new parts

The 2014 i3 with 20" wheels I test drove had this problem -- it was very noticeable and annoying to both my wife and I and we considered it completely unacceptable in a car that lists for almost $50K. While we didn't buy the car (my wife didn't fall for it in the same fashion I did), there is no...

Day 1 of Extended Test Drive

Just curious -- is this due to the "whoop-whoop" sound, a harsher ride, or something else? All of the i3s my local dealer has have 20" wheels.

Day 1 of Extended Test Drive

To the OP, I was in roughly the same boat as you. I fell in love with the car immediately. It would have worked perfectly in my city routine -- I have a daily round trip to work of about 7 miles and have a number of regular around-town trips that take the total distance up to somewhere between...

    Test Drive

You are probably right, but at this point, it isn't really worth stirring the pot any further. One of the few things I've learned in nearly 39 years of marriage is when to stop talking.... ;-)

    Test Drive

Guess we won't be getting an i3. After my wife's test drive yesterday morning, we both had to scoot off in different directions so didn't get to talk until last evening. She thinks the car is fun, but simply didn't fall in love with it. She is pretty old school when it comes to cars and likes...

    Tire pressures- what's best?

Thanks for the replies. We also noticed that the sound was most prominent when driving on very smooth roads -- the better and more pristine the asphalt, the louder the sound. From your comments, it seems like it is related to the tread pattern of the specific tire. Makes you wonder how that...

    Test Drive

Thinking about leasing an i3 and took my wife over for her first test drive this morning. They had a REX waiting for us - the wife drove for about an hour with me riding shotgun, as I'd driven one about a week ago. The car performed well and she enjoyed driving. The "one pedal" technique took...

    Tire pressures- what's best?

We test drove a REX today and noticed the "whoop whoop" noise that others have mentioned. The car had the 20" wheels. Have no idea what the tire pressures were set to. Is this related to tire pressure or is it just a noise that cars with that wheel size are stuck with? It seemed quite annoying...

    I think I hate my i3 Rex...

Just checked the BMW USA web site and it shows, for the REX, "up to 150 miles total range". So the earlier poster's comment is certainly not unreasonable. Your reply seems a bit overly catty - just what a prospective buyer wants to see! It implies: "How could you be so stupid as to believe what...

    How often to recharge?

Thanks for the comments. Sounds like, with the battery overcharge and run-dry protection that BMW has built in, the best route is just to charge the car when one has the opportunity to use a plug and not worry any further about it.

    How often to recharge?

First time poster here. We are considering an i3 to replace our Mini Clubman. In looking at our lifestyle, we are mainly urban drivers -- I've got a 7 mile round trip to work and drive maybe 30 miles a day at most, while my wife has averaged 25 miles a day over her last 5 years in the Mini. (And...
