So the interior door handle just broke

Update for anyone curious: Apparently this is an unheard of fault and the part isn't even available and will need to be "manufactured" or whatever. Could be 6 months. I have the car for 24 months from last November, so we'll see if it gets fixed before I turn it back in. At least the door will...

So the interior door handle just broke

Like the title says, I went to exit the vehicle a couple of days ago and heard a loud "SNAP" when I pulled the door handle. I noticed a little while later that it no longer sits flush with the door and feels 'loose.' It's a pretty new '19 i3s REx with 5k miles on the clock. I have an appointment...

    I3 vs i3s new member

robthebold, When I had a '17 with the sunroof, it wasn't carbon fiber. My new '19 s without the sunroof is though.

    I3 vs i3s new member

I would echo what the others posted. I had a non-S REx ('17 model) for 3 years and it was perfect. My *only* complaint about that car was the high beams. I live in a rural area and the pre-'18 refresh high beams were a JOKE. I replaced them with something brighter but they still sucked. And...

    Next ICE car - advice

I only leased my i3s REx for 24 months. While I am really enjoying it, this is our second i3. I'll be turning it back in Nov '21 and I'm not super confident that there will be many other acceptable EV options here in the US at that time. Not wanting to do a third i3. I really like the look of...

BMW to build i3 until 2024

Thought you guys might like to see some comparos. I live in Arkansas, and we don't have any state-level incentives. I recently leased an i3s REx that MSRP'd for $55k. The dealer gave me a $2k discount, then a further $10,500 combination from other incentives. I'm leasing it for 24 months and...

    Heated seats, OMG!

Guess it's time to get Bimmercode and an adapter.

    Heated seats, OMG!

Honestly I'm finding that even the low setting is too hot after just a few minutes. I guess maybe I'll appreciate them on those rare (and getting rarer) truly cold days here in the deep south.

    Heated seats, OMG!

I have a 2019 i3s REx with Deka so it has the cloth seats. Holy cow, the heated seats are ridiculous! I had a '17 i3 with Tera and the leather seats were heated, but not like this. Anyone else with this set up find that their heated seats are a little too....exuberantly heated?

    Buy 2017 i3 vs. lease 2019

I had a '17 REx for 3 years and just recently took delivery of a '19 s REx. For the aesthetics of the exterior refresh, the new iDrive, and the actual (and amazing!) high beams, I would recommend opting for the new car. I loved driving the '17 for three years, but the new car is all that plus a...

Our second i3 , a 2020 in Melbourne Red is ordered

Okay, well hopefully there won't be any major changes! 8-) Speaking from experience, I came from a Capparis White i3 to a Melbourne Red i3s with the black wheels, and omg....I'm blown away by the change in aesthetic. My CA threw in tinting and I requested him to go as dark as possible, and he...

Our second i3 , a 2020 in Melbourne Red is ordered

I didn't know BMW was already producing 2020s. I order a 2019 in September and took delivery of it last weekend. BMWUSA still only has 2019s, so I'm guessing you're elsewhere?

    Dead pedal flexing?

I picked up my new 2019 i3s REx this past weekend and on the drive home I noticed the 'dead pedal' where you might rest your left foot has some flexibility if you push on it toward the outside. I don't remember the '17 i3 that I recently turned in doing that. It doesn't make a noise or anything...

Mini EV will kill used i3 prices

I have always thought a low-range BEV would be a great first vehicle for a high schooler. Little to no maintenance, inability to travel more than necessary, no fuel expense, generally safer than many ICE cars, and it would teach the responsibility of remembering to charge. The fact that they're...

Brake Dust and Time to Charge indicator

"Before I bought my i3S, I was ordering a Model 3...but I could not get past no Satellite radio offered in the Model 3 and you had to enter the Climate menu on the giant screen and use your fingers to pinch and pull on the screen to ADJUST the hvac vents. All whilst driving. SO dangerous and...

Brake Dust and Time to Charge indicator

Did you have an i3 prior to getting your i3s? If so, is there an appreciable difference in how it drives and feels on the road? Mine should be at my dealer in the next couple of weeks and I'm really looking forward to seeing how it compared to the i3 I had previously. I always thought that car...

Brake Dust and Time to Charge indicator

Do you think the "brake" dust (or whatever it is, road grime?) is just more visible since you have the black wheels? I had one version of the silverish 19" wheels on my '17 i3 and never noticed the rims getting dirty, but I opted for the black on the i3s I ordered and now I'm a wondering if that...

    I'm on a boat! (maybe?)

Looks like the Orion Highway docked in Jacksonville, FL yesterday! Now here's hoping she makes a quick exit from the port and gets to my dealer soon. The B2B warranty on the Volt expires later this month and I *really* don't want to risk something going wrong with that car in the interim. It has...

    I'm on a boat! (maybe?)

Wow, well considering what a trip yours required, maybe ordering mine on September 20 will mean an early November delivery for me since mine will doc on the East Coast and make a 1 day trip to my dealer :D I guess I'm just anxious to say goodbye to my current Chevy Volt and hello to the i3...
