Using range extender only for electric charge

Well said. Here in Australia (and I presume elsewhere) Nissan has just released their Qashqai and X-Trail models with series hybrid power which the call e power...

My intro message. BMW i3S is brilliant, but needs big range Solid State battery

Hey understandably Grumpy ;) (with all due respect!) Here's something that will cheer you up no end, and me too. Wheels is a car magazine specific to Australia that I have subscribed to for longer than I care to remember. They do scour the world for stories. There was a paragraph that caught...

Couldn't agree more with your sentiments. Coincidentally, an email lobbed in my inbox this morning that Hyundai and Genesis are bringing buttons back due to customer feedback. Almost fell over backwards with surprise that a car company accepts it made a mistake... An interesting article, with...

New to forum. Looking to buy late this year.

Good luck with your search. There were only about 730 i3's sold in total in Australia from 2012 to 2021. No, not a typo... just 730. So not a big seller. At the moment, there would appear to be only 11 on the market throughout the country, with just 2 here in my home state of Queensland. I would...

My bmw app not showing anything but location…help!

Maybe BMW Australia are on top of things more so that in the US... in the past month I received an email from them regarding my i3 Connected Services. I also have an excellent BMW dealership here in Brisbane. %G is now being rolled out in Australia, more so in metro areas. How will that affect...

Key fob won't open or start car

My understanding is that if you fail to lock your car, the car and key fob keep "looking" for each other, hence your flat fob battery. It could have been worse... a friend of mine has a brand new Subaru Forester and whilst parked in her locked garage, didn't lock the car. The result was a flat...

Someone else searching for an 2021 i3 S fully loaded with the all the options that were offered BMW as a part of “ their last year’ program.

Sorry to hear of your injury, but I still stand by my assertion that correctly placed mirrors will negate the need for a BSM. I rarely turn my head when changing lanes.

    Delayed charging Debacle

Yes! Hit the nail on the head Alohart... someone appears to have purchased the wrong car ;)

    Delayed charging Debacle

Couldn't agree more. I think some people have way too much time on their hands...

So you So you are worried about not having a blind spot monitor? I will pose a question to you... are your exterior mirrors positioned correctly? If you can see the sides of your car from your normal driving position, then I would suggest that they need to be moved out. This will solve your...

    Flooded I3

Are you sure it was a dad rat? Could have been a mom rat o_O🥴🤣

Refinished my Tera Eucalyptus wood today.

I agree, it does look good. However to my mind, why not use a quality cabinet maker's polish, such as Goddard's? (now owned by SC Johnson). I think it would have the same effect, with much less hassle

Anyone found another tire that fits??

I would suggest, at least here in Australia, that firstly, fitting tyres that are wrong size for the rim would make your car non-compliant with the relevant Australian Design Rule (I presume you also have similar regulations in the US) and consequently, should you be involved in an accident...

And just another thought... why are towbars not a BMW i3 option, at least in Australia? Pretty obvious to me... So perhaps a third party 'option'? Give me strength.

Well, no. Why did you purchase a car not suitable to what you actually need? I shake my head... that's the rattling you can hear :). More research into your vehicle needs is clearly needed before purchase.

    Tinkering

This might just be me, but I can't help thinking that most of the issues that come up in the forum are as a direct result of tinkering by owners. I don't think that any modern car can be treated the same way as in the past... like in the 50's, 60's and perhaps the 70's, and maybe even the 80's...

Key fob won't open or start car

I have read all the messages on this topic. Do like I do... change the fob battery once a year. Choose a date that means something to you so it becomes second nature. Solves the problem before it happens. Also, use quality batteries, definitely not 'no name' brands from a Dollar shop. Button /...
