2017 BMW i3 My BMW app only works while charging

Hey,

My 2017 BMW i3 will only connect to the My BMW app while it's charging. Has anyone seen this before?

The only thing I can think of is my 12v battery might be on it's way out and the car will not enable data services because it suspects a bad 12v battery?

Your 12 volt suspicion makes the most sense! First time I recall reading about this particular problem.

If you want to test your theory, there's a 12 volt "jumper lug" under the rear floorplan. Connect a 12 volt battery tender to it and see if this changes anything?
