Hi all...

For some reason I decided to reset the i3 app statistics, and it rewarded me with some wonderful information regarding my last trip.... 2.1 billion miles!

That value is the largest possible positive number in 32 bits. It is pretty common for software to use a value like that to represent missing data, but that only works if the program always tests for that value and never treats it like an actual number.

Except, that the number shown is a real, and not the integer (2^31)-1. Just as weird, since this is necessarily a positive number, why not an unsigned (2^32)-1? And, does this mean our beloved i3 is not using state-of-the-art 64-bit processing, making it dumber that the last couple generations of iPhones? No wonder it can't remember our last mode settings!
