Has anyone else had a problem with the jacking points?
I jack my car (carefully) twice a year to change winter and summer tyres/wheels over and last December discovered that my dealer had wrecked one of my jacking points, which is now stuffed under the bodywork on the door sill.
BMW advise that the car should not be jacked on any other part, but this has not stopped two main dealers (both BMWi specialist dealers) from jacking the car anyway.
The car is now in for repair - possibly £5,000-£10,000 to rectify, or if the vehicle chassis has been damaged (the jacking point assembly is part of the chassis structure) the car could be a write-off!!
This car has been the best car I have ever had (I've had about 20) for drivability, comfort and economy, but the latter is about to blown out of the water. If the car is a write-off it won't have been very environmentally-friendly either!
