Hi,
I read in the topic about "off peak tarif" and the troubles this funtion has, one symptom is the red charge port light when opening the doors, along with a charge failure displayed in the app.

My charge port light also goes red a lot of times during pre conditioning of the interiour. Since i deactivated the interiour preconditioning letting the departure time set, this symptom disappeared.

Does anyone experience the same?

Also, with precon of the interiour set, in the half hour before departure time the wal box is tuning off and on al the time. That disapeared too after i deactivated precon.

Yes I have the on-off problem, my theory is its related to the derating of the KLE as it doesn't happen with the loaner I currently have (old software) or my i3 before the update.

I haven't had any trouble with the off-peak function though, I do have a problem with my EVSE tripping when using max power but thats a problem with the RCD in my EVSE and not the car itself.

I read about this KLE being replaced a lot and reduced charge rates. Does every i3 get a new KLE eventualy?
The sw is updated several times and i still have the full charge rate. Could this on and off switching have something to do with it?
In had a loaner a few weeks ago and that one had the same behaviour.

BMW said, but I haven't been able to verify, but the reduction in charging rate is a temperature related thing...if your vehicle is below the point where it needs to reduce the rate, you may not notice.

The on/off behaviour is definitely a change in recent software whether or not its related to KLE changes I don't know.

My working theory is this, before the change the precondition would be allowed to drain SOC say 1-5%, then would charge at as close to maximum as it could so it would be fully charged for departure time. With the derating, the SOC isn't being allowed to drain, because it can no longer charge at such a high rate as to ensure full SOC at the departure time, so is keeping the battery topped up constantly.

I have nothing to confirm this, but it seems the most plausible explanation at the moment.

Hi all.

My only charging oddity is if I unlock the car when it is in charge paused mode... I hear the charge port unlock, then lock, then unlock, then lock, then unlock then lock.... why?
