Remove Backup Light Assembly?

I'm not seeing an easy way to remove the backup light/reflector assembly on my 2013 i3/REX. Surely the entire rear bumper assembly doesn't have to be removed, does it? Or maybe the assembly is spring loaded and can simply be pried out? I haven't wanted to try that for risk of scratching the surrounding surface.

Looks like the bumper cover must be removed.

That's what I was afraid of... Not exactly a user friendly design...
