Being mindful of the small capacity 12 volt battery the i3 uses to run it's accessories has anyone experienced drama with using the power socket in the lower centre dash. I am thinking something like a head up display speed readout that feeds off the socket via a standard type USB connection. As far as I know that power outlet does switch off after a few minutes.

The accessory sockets are said to support up to 140W. P=IE, so 140/12=almost 12A. I doubt anything you'd plug in there would be drawing anywhere near that amount. It needs to be robust enough to power the small compressor that comes with the car.
