The tail lights might be production ready, but the headlights look a little small to make it on the final BMW i3 production version.
Note the super skinny tires to help with efficiency. I also love the blue camo pattern :)
This wouldn't happen to be a diesel range extender would it? I know BMW has talked about other diesel hybrids recently, I think it would be cool to see a small diesel engine as the range extender.
Edit: I see it says a 600cc motorcycle engine - don't know of any diesel motorcycles!
That is a good question, but thanks for the answer Tom - you're right. We are still a good ways off from the BMW i3 being available so there is still time to build awareness. It's easy to think the date is closer considering the i3 is getting more press now.
The BMW i3 concept is being shown in Leipzig at a special trade fair to interested persons from police and other public authorities. (BMW says for the first time ever - does that mean it's the production version they will be seeing?)

BMW didn't announce how much they invested, but it's obviously enough that Coloumb Technologies was ok with them announcing this type of strategic investment/agreement.
