What is better for range: freeway or city driving

The EPA pegged energy usage as 30, 27, and 25 kWh per 100 miles for the BEV. That is Hwy, Combined, and City respectively. So you will absolutely go farther driving at slower speeds because you will use less energy per mile. It will just take you longer to get there.

    Pressing Start/Stop While Driving

So it drops into Neutral then and coasts right? Press Start/Stop again then shift to D to continue I presume? Thanks

I don't want to try it but does anyone know what happens if you press Start/Stop while driving?

OK thanks. I will give it a try on my next outing ..

Estimated Range Prediction / Energy Used Calculation

Great post thanks. It does work for me as well, however, I'm not sure it has any value on a drive. Will the menu stay up while driving? I also didn't see an SOC or Energy Used indication in the Unlock Menus?

Going for an 185 mi drive today in my BEV .. Wish Me Luck!

I found another SAE CCS charger in Irvine which I didn't realize was there: 6200 Irvine Boulevard, Irvine, CA 92620

Going for an 185 mi drive today in my BEV .. Wish Me Luck!

WOW .. they are going to need to install one of those take a number gizmos you used to see at the delicatessen, bakery, or butcher shop! The Freedom Station I used in Hermosa Beach had 2 DCFCs; one for CHAdeMO and one for SAE CCS. The other charger from an independent company was a single...

Going for an 185 mi drive today in my BEV .. Wish Me Luck!

Use plugshare.com to find chargers. It's more complete than ChargePoint and allows users to "check-in" so others know if the station is in use as well as posting other good to know comments and pictures of the location. The Irvine charger is a 3rd party charger from a local company called "EV...

    DC Fast Charging SAE Option

I'm sorry to say that you are up the veritable creek without a paddle if you didn't option it. I am one of those people who thinks this should be a mandatory feature for either model. All you have to do is use it once, and it will make complete sense. If you are reading this planning to order a...

SAE DC Combo chargers in Mid Atlantic

Let your public officials know! Deployment seems to be centered around the EV population for obvious reasons. More plug-in cars are coming with SAE CCS which can only help

Going for an 185 mi drive today in my BEV .. Wish Me Luck!

SO I made it and it went VERY WELL .. Whew! Takeaways: DCFC works and it works very well. I used 2 DCFC both were 50A units. They delivered 80% SOC in 30 minutes; 90% in 60 minutes. We need these along our interstate routes and at major shopping centers! 188.7 total miles, no gas, no emissions...

Estimated Range Prediction / Energy Used Calculation

I started this thread with exactly what you are asking. An energy used readout on the trip computer, onboard info, or eDrive display. Counts up from zero, accounts for regen, shows me exactly how much of my 18.8 kWh I have used since my last full charge. Bottom line is I mostly ignore the range...

Estimated Range Prediction / Energy Used Calculation

Boatguy, I have to say that they have gotten it wrong. They've gotten many things right and I love the car but the range estimate algorithm is honked up. Just observe what it does and you'll see what I mean. Today, I left my house with a full, preconditioned charge. I put the car in ECO PRO...

Going for an 185 mi drive today in my BEV .. Wish Me Luck!

Thank you Frank that is good to hear. I'll be driving the CA interstate freeway which while it does not have unrestricted speeds, traffic moves steady at between 110-120 km/h. Traveling at 80 km/h could be a bit sketchy bu t I will try to keep it around 95 km/h

Going for an 185 mi drive today in my BEV .. Wish Me Luck!

I'll be using the DCFC at Hermosa Beach and in Irvine on Quail Ridge Parkway. Only going as far as Rancho Bernardo, so I won't be visiting fashion valley this trip. Thanks ...
