Also, wondering if I should instead wait for the 2017, but will they still offer the same incentives?

Hi jsidhu-

Sorry if this it too late to help, but (and bearing in mind that it is hard to say 100% for sure without knowing more details about your deal) this sounds to be in a fair ball park for a 2016.

Here's what I got quoted in the first week of August from my long-time dealer on a somewhat more fully equipped 2016 i3 for a 30 month (not 36) 12K mile per year lease here in the San Francisco Bay area, with all the associated California fees and taxes:

MSRP: $50,745
Dealer Discounted Price: $47.499
Cap Cost reductions from BMW ($7,500 for federal tax credit + $1,000 for "loyalty" to BMW): $8,500
Adjusted cap cost (adding the $925.00 bank fee in): : $39,924
Money factor: .00165
Cash down: $0
Drive off: $1,710.96 (CA fees, document fee, CA sales tax on the cap cost reductions, first month's lease payment)
Monthly lease payment, including tax: $444.26

As for the 2017's, dealers are unlikely to give much if any discount off the MSRP for the first couple of months. If you can wait, the pricing on these should get much more favorable come November or December.

Best of luck to you.

That's roughly in line with the $3000 down and $270/mo for 36 month / 10k miles I'm seeing now. Fair deals, but not real great. Inventory on the 2016s is starting to get really thin and there's no big incentive to move them, especially here in Bay Area. I spotted a 2016 Giga fully loaded on Thursday, but it sold yesterday before I could make a move. Hopefully the discounts improve after the 2017s hit the lot, but I fear most of the 2016s will be gone by then.
