That's a loaded question...over time, various modules are changed during production, so there isn't 'one' build that can be installed on every vehicle. It's my understanding that when a BMW needs new software, it is connected to the computer at the dealership, and is then controlled via the servers in Germany that purpose build a particular software module for that specific car. As a result, various bits may have different build numbers...it's not like updating say a Windows system. You'd have to know which options and specific modules are in the car, and then, you might be able to figure it out.
