    Regenerative braking question

...my question really was if you find a hill that the car would freewheel down in neutral without gaining or losing speed.... And then if you drive down the same hill "in gear" you will need to depress the accelerator. In theory both these scenarios should be taking no power from the battery...

    Regenerative braking question

So going down a reasonably steep incline, if I take my foot off the "gas" the car slows to eventual halt. So I need to keep the pedal slightly depressed to maintained equal speed - I assume this sends some current to the motor to decrease its resistance and regen capability So it feels like I...

    Red flashing light on charger

I wonder if someone could confirm what LEDs are on on the granny charger when it is not attached to car... I get pulsing 3 red flashes on "fault" which I guess is not normal or good news... It's not got wet or been knocked and worked last night... Is it a type 2 mode 2 charger...

I got around this issue by moving the departure date to "yesterday", so Idrive calculates there are enough 4 hour cheap rate windows to fully charge the car before it thinks you want to leave. Annoyingly if you forget and departure date becomes the next day it will fully charge to 100% and...

    Loose roof side trim

I went to a different dealer (Berry's) and they agreed to fix it under warranty immediately. I won't be using Vine's in Guildford again. They wanted £100 to "investigate" the problem, but the problem was plain to see. If they had judged it a warranty repair they say they would have reimbursed...

Rattling glove box lid! (Any ideas on how to tighten?)

After taking inspiration from above I fixed my rattle by fixing a couple of adhesive felts pads (from ebay to put under wooden chair legs) on each side of the front of the glove box (not the lid). This creates just enought tension to remove the rattle. Took 30 seconds - cost less than £2. I do...

    Loose roof side trim

..for the benfit of anyone else with this problem, there is a curved triangle bit of plastic inside, visible when the boot is open, this is clipped to the plastic trim on one side and glued with a double sided spongy pad to the frame. This pad had failed. I don't know if this kind of failure...

    Loose roof side trim

I have a 1 yr old i3, bought used 6 months ago, on 800 miles. I just noticed the strip trim above the rear windows is loose on one side. Maybe 5mm play at the back. The front is firm. BMW dealer wont repair under warranty I'm refering the the trim along the length of the car between the roof...
