Electric Car Charge Point Companies UK

I have also registered for those other than instead of Polar Instant, which is PAYG, I got the BMW ChargeNow card, same network, and charging has been free (so far) part from the up front registration cost. I have also registered for Chargepoint Genie, because the DC rapid points in Hampshire...

    Charging accounts in UK

Just noticed that Chargepoint Genie (discussed earlier in this thread) have effectively increased prices by 25%!! The DC rapids were originally 2 points per minute, just check again and they're now 2.5!

    The new car has arrived!

Congratulations. Good luck with your journey tomorrow, I have yet to have a successful charge at any of Ecotricity's CCS chargers at motorway services. However you could manage on the REx, make sure it's full of fuel, deploy it at 75% charge (as soon as you can) then run it until it's needs more...

    Hey, Mr. Moderator!

How long before the next Bait & Switch Class Action thread starts? "Hey Mr. Moderator, I joined this extremely helpful free internet forum and there was no spam and now there's a few junk posts"   Dry your eyes, princess.

Welcome to the BMW i3 Forum

I've had a similar experience recently. My driver side mirror was broken in an incident where the other driver failed to stop. I reported it to the police who are interested in speaking to the other driver in case they were uninsured and the local authority are checking CCTV (if it's you and...

Bait and Switch? Range reduced by over 1/3

You think?? Glad you cleared that one up.

    Ordered!

Not strictly true... You can easily add locations by pushing the iDrive controller right and selecting the save current position option - no address needed, just a name & type. If you've charged at a place, you can also locate it afterwards by going to recent destinations and then recent...

    Ordered!

Welcome and congratulations... I would agree that perhaps it may be worth considering the REx. In the last couple of months, I've found that CCS DC charging is either broken or simply does not work with the car (error message "vehicle not recognised" on charhing station). Although BMW are...

    UK EVSE Install

Rate is shown in kW, and consumption is shown in kWh, the display automatically alternates between them. I can hardly see it mind as the distribution board is up by the ceiling. I suppose the meter one gets is down to the supplier, I didn't have a choice. Rate (car plugged in :o )...

    UK EVSE Install

OK then it must depend on both the installer and the type of EVSE, as my meter shows both rate and usage, plus your EVSE appears inside and therefore near the meter, here are photos of my smart meter (inside the garage) and EVSE (inside the porch), installed by Schneider Electric.

    UK EVSE Install

I don't think the meter is anywhere near the EVSE. Although I don't have a Rolec (have BMW Pure Wallbox), the meter is in a separate breaker box next to my consumer board. It has a SIM card in it so it can send usage data back to OLEV.

    Front Hood NOT Sealed Well

My dealer pointed out that the front compartment was not weather-proof so I bought the bag to store the standard cable, the type 2 cable, tyre repair kit and towing eye. Expensive, but fits well and keeps everything dry. http://www.bmw.co.uk/en_GB/new-vehicles/bmw-i/i3/2013/aftersales.html

    UK Order v Delivery Dates

Should be doable - do the first leg on electric in ECO PRO and stop at Chieveley top up (only short distance but in this weather and motorway speed, you'll have used more than half). Head north on A34/M40 towards Warwick services M40 J12-13, 68 miles away. Don't forget to select ECO PRO again...

    Charging accounts in UK

Excellent, although the one in Ringwood is still offline and has not been connected yet. Keep your eye on the Charge Genie app or website map.

    UK Order v Delivery Dates

Collected car today, ordered 02/05/14. Originally estimated for 01/10/14 and arrived 27/11/14. so leather supply problems added two months onto the time. Still I'm very happy with it, the regenerative braking will need a little getting used to, but even on day 1, it has started to feel natural...

    Change Connected Drive username

Yep. Had a similar situation when my dealer set up the account on M3 separately to my already existing one for X3. I didn't want to logout/login everytime, simply have a single login and use the change vehicle feature within the phone app. In the end I rang customer services on 0800 325600...

    Charging accounts in UK

Ah yes, I was just making the point that they're not CCS yet, so these new ones mean I can visit a client in Fareham without plugging in while I'm there.

    Charging accounts in UK

I don't think they've been there long - this press release is dated today: https://www.zap-map.com/rapid-ev-charging-network-hampshire/ Sign up here: https://www.chargepointgenie.com/Account/Register You will then need the smartphone app to start charging, or wait for the RFID card to arrive...
