Change Connected Drive username

Anyone successfully changed their Connected Drive username?

& the result I get is this [typically-useless-BMW-website-design] message: "Error while trying to change the user name."

Yep. Had a similar situation when my dealer set up the account on M3 separately to my already existing one for X3. I didn't want to logout/login everytime, simply have a single login and use the change vehicle feature within the phone app. In the end I rang customer services on 0800 325600, there's somebody called Diane who is the ConnectedDrive expert, within 30 minutes she merged the two accounts into one. I expect I'll be doing the same on Thursday when I pick up my new i3, and get them to put it onto the same account.

All in all painless, although they will advise you to change your password afterwards, as of course it's possible to unlock the car(s) once you've had this conversation.
