I do however prefer the contrast of the black bonnet.

It does change the look of the car somewhat. This was also shown when Tom wrapped his i3 in red, including the bonnet:

Tom worked harder on the bodyline with the black wrap hiding the step down to the passenger window.

On the side of the car, the black bonnet and trim accentuates the discontinuous line along the body. The body color bonnet improves that line at the cost of raising the apparent frontal height. Not everyone will prefer that.

There is obviously no right or wrong. I wrapped mine as soon as I got it to demonstrate how it would look so others can decide what they would like to do.

Thanks for posting this hood mod. It will definitely help people decide what they prefer. The hood painting is an easy, relatively inexpensive mod compared to a full body wrap so no people can see both examples. Nice job!
