ConnectedDrive Store + Smartphone Apps

Has anyone in here (except UK, since Online Services are standard there), used ConnectedDrive Store?
Experience?

And has anyone used the "old type" Smartphone Apps through your own smartphone (via BMW Conneted app) and cable, without paying the Online Service fee?
(again only relevant for countries where online services are not standard)

In the UK I had connected drive with my Z4 but once the ‘free’ period finished, and I did not think it was worth paying for, the app and other things stopped working.

OK, but after Juli 2013 production, all cars are online, as a part of 6AC, so I need to know how the "old type" of apps via smartphones are handled now. The new type that live in the cars, and use the online service through the cars SIM card need a subscription of course. These are now a part of the ConnectedDrive Store, and can bought there.
