I just bought a Laurel Gray Metallic color bmw i3.
I just noticed that the color and texture of it’s roof is different from the body..
Is that normal??

Is that way on mine. Mine is white, with black roof, bonnet, tailgate. The roof panel looks almost like carbon fiber under a clear-coat, close up, where the bonnet is just shiny black.
FWIW, BMW uses cutoffs and scraps from building the 'frame' to then make the roof...it's the same stuff as the frame with a different finish to help protect it from UV. It's strong, but not as strong as the full sheets used in the frame.
