Well, they have past the £20k barrier over here about a month ago - so similar prices to eGolf.

Very interesting. What Car's depreciation index (http://www.whatcar.com/car-depreciation-calculator/results?edition1=43669&makeId=6805&modelVersionId=39065&editionId=39310) shows i3 residuals holding up well against similar priced 3-series cars and i3 rex outperforming them.

Not really! a sample of two vehicles doesn't make a trend.

EV's and PHEV's don't really have an established 2nd hand market in the UK just yet, and the tax advantages of buying new as a business purchase are so good that this will artificially depress the market Until EV's become acceptable to 2nd and third owners ( battery life needs to be a proven non factor). ALL new vehicle tumble heavily in the first year of ownership with a very few exotic exceptions. I'm in it for a 10 year plus ownership ride so initial depreciation isn't a factor for me; it will be interesting to see where we are in say five years time though.

Here's a similar milage BMW 320 auto. Looks like what you've identified is pretty reasonable and rather ordinary depreciation.

...and also you never know peoples individual circumstance....they may have to raise some urgent cash/looking for quick sale....
