My i3 is now about 5 years old and is currently at the dealership for a service. I asked them if they were able to run any diagnostics to let me know how well the battery pack is performing and if I am getting close to the 70% degradation figure which is when I believe the warranty would kick...
Last month my UK i3 (BEV) celebrated its third birthday and as a result I was faced with making a number of choices. The first was whether to keep the vehicle by settling my BMW Financial Services contract. This was pretty much a no brainer as I love the car, it still suits me perfectly, and...
I took delivery of my Bev in early 2014 on a three year lease and am still really enjoying it. I only drive it locally so range has never been an issue for me and the car has only 7000 miles on the clock. I am now starting to think about whether I want to keep it or whether I should order a...
Last week my BEV went into the dealer for its software update, and ever since the update I have not been able to charge the car overnight using the low tariff charging settings. Car went back to the dealer today, and the charging errors showed up on the vehicle diagnostics. Just now had a call...
I was very pleasantly surprised at the cost of insuring my i3. I am paying only £210 for myself and my wife, full no claims and based on 8k miles and includes driving to my place of work.. The premium is actually less than I was paying for my 8 year old Fiat Panda.
I didn't order the enhanced bluetooth option and can confirm that I am able to access the email set up screen. Unfortunately it keeps rejecting my icloud settings which I think might be because I have two part verification set on my icloud account to prevent unauthorised access from unknown...
I wonder if this explains why when I get into my car in the morning at about the time I have set it to be preconditioned (with the car plugged in having received an overnight feed) I never see a full charge - there is always a bit of blue missing from the charge bars.
For me, the UK packages represented very poor value for money. It is possible to rent an equivalent BMW for considerably less than the equivalent cost of the point scheme; on a three year lease the car will only need one service,; and it much more economical for me to use a pay as you go...
I have also had mine now for a week and I have learnt that:
1) I always really really hope that someone in V12 Aston or similar pulls up along side me at traffic lights
2) I am glad I went for a car that has black carpets and mats
3) People tend to stare a lot - I am guessing that Solar...
Will let you know in the mooring as I am attempting my first overnight charge with pre-conditioning on. Struggled all day to get the settings on the car/phone correct to enable this and needed the help of my dealer's i3 expert to sort me out.
Thanks for this but still no luck so I rang up the Connected Drive helpline and they told me it is an Apple issue which BMW are trying to get sorted. So for the moment any output has to be controlled using the phone itself and not te cars media controls.
Funny you should mention this. One of the reasons I went for Solar Orange is that it reminded me of my first ever car which I loved before it was eaten alive by rust - a 1976 Alfasud
My insurance policy includes new for old in the first year, and my broker quoted £80 to cover years 2 and 3 which I only need pay at the end of year 1. I didn't take any of the packages for the following reasons:
- service element didn't make sense financially as I have a 3 year lease and the...
