How many have had the drive train malfunction error?

Hello all, been off the i3 forums for awhile using my little time I've had hanging out on the Jag F-Pace forum (uh, getting a F-Pace). It's nice to come back and see so much useful information regarding so many things. Yes, I'm back because I too got my first "Drivetrain malfunction but you can...

    19" vs 20" tires

Unless you live where there's snow a lot, I wouldn't worry about it. Go with what you think looks best. I love my 20" wheels and the tires are awesome. I posted here a few weeks ago of my experience in the really crappy weather. Icicles hanging off my car, I couldn't even get the tires to slip...

    Heated seat question

Okay, one thing I really loved about my now Ex-Buick Enclave was that you could turn on the rear of the seat heater separately from the bottom seat heater. I have some weird nerve damage and after a short time, even on low, the bottom seat heater is too uncomfortable for me. I would however...

My experience between 49 degree and 75 degree 90 mile trip

For what it's worth, I've been looking forward to this one trip I make about every 2 months that's 90 miles round trip. I use my i3 for almost all urban commuting so rarely need my rex. I've been very curious about what the weather would do for range hit. Although the 49 degrees is fairly above...

Low Frequency Rumbling Sound When Driving & Window Open

You're not unique in this respect as just about every car I've ever owned did this and I've owned a lot of cars. I have learned from my experience anyway, that the more streamlined the car is, the worst the low-frequency buffeting sound will be. My recent Buick Enclave was the worst in that...

    Portland, OR

There are several Portland members on here, myself being one of them. Keep Portland weird? It will never be NOT weird, or home to too many slow driving Prius owners..

    navigation wont display charging stations?

I had this same problem right out of the gate. No one could figure it out and I was the first guy to have this problem at BMW Portland. They had to call Germany to see what the deal was. The problem, I was told, was that I was not correctly entered into the BMW database. There are 3 separate...

How do you get the circular radio dial back on?

Doh! yeah I just figured it out finally last night. I just kind of like the look of it versus the other radio screen. The bummer of it though is it doesn't tell you who is playing so if you can't figure out it's "Stairway to Heaven", then you'll have to go back to the original radio screen...

How do you get the circular radio dial back on?

A few times I have seen the round (on screen) radio dial and then I go another screen and then I can't for the life of me figure out how to get back to it! Anyone want to enlighten me :?:

    That steering wheel

:D HAHAHAHA... so true.... +1 I dunno, I really REALLY wanted the dark interior but wasn't prepared to spend Terra prices... Now the light steering wheel with the cool blue ring has grown on me so much I don't know if I could go back! I love it. As far as those Torx screws, I had to go look...

i3 Subtleties (not mentioned in the owner's manual)

Great job? Depends... Dull? uhh - NO... Stress free? uh - NO!!! trying being inbetween 20 thousand fans and the band and the "button" not working... AUUGHH! But, when it DOES work the job can be really one of the best jobs in the world - as long as you like that kind of music, in which you thank...

i3 Subtleties (not mentioned in the owner's manual)

Doh! I didn't know any of that. Call me stupid but I finally found the "mute" button for the radio... I am so accustomed to having a mute switch on the steering wheel, I didn't think to just push the freakin' radio button. Embarrassing  , as I am a professional button pusher... For cryin...

    Roof rack and trailer hitch?

Cool! Thanks for the tip. If Torklift is going to make something I can wait for that. That's great news. Hell I'm close enough to them where I could drive up there and see 'em! Probably have to be my ICE though  Thanks man.

    Roof rack and trailer hitch?

I would also love it if anyone had an idea if there was a towing option available with this car for very light loads. As unacceptable as it might seem for a car designed to be so light for mileage, I manufacture a product that's a bit too large for the back and would love to get 2 of these per...

    New Dashmat design

Yeah, you got me there...

Anyone regret getting the 20" wheels?

Absolutely not. Love em. Way over our other choices. I have to admit though that if I knew it was a summer tire at the time of purchase, I may not have bought them. After reading all the posts about how these tires might suck in lower temperatures, all I could do was wait until mother nature...

    New Dashmat design

uh, well uhhh  , I didn't know about it and I'm not Dashmat.com, so I dunno. I know that they do say though that their dashmats don't impede sound as they're pretty thin, so I wouldn't worry about it... As a guy who designs and builds speakers as well owns a sound company, I would...

    The New Dashmats are in

I have the exact same car as pictured at the top of the forum page - and same color and model as you. The Dashmat I have is the suede I think in gray/silver. In bright sunlight it has a bit of a sheen to it, but I think everything does to an extent, even it was black. I'm guessing the Velour...

Knowing what you know now. Would you do it all over again?

I'm still on my 2 month honeymoon with my i3. Yes, I wouldn't even think about NOT buying this car again. It's perfect for a lot of people and perfect for me. I would absolutely NOT buy this car without the REX, even if it was twice the price and even though I go mainly all short distances. But...

    The New Dashmats are in

Dashmat sent me their newest Dashmat after the failed design I received first for the i3. The old one worked fine as long as you just tucked the glove box flap (which was supposed to go over the glovebox and you couldn't open it -doh!) into the glovebox. Anyway, I think they listened this time...
