    Brakes Question

Carbon fiber disc's would have saved quite a few pounds.I don't know what kind of pads they'd use, but F1 uses them.

    Home charging options

Here's a link to a video showing several wall boxes, to compare sizes. http://insideevs.com/video-overview-of-todays-most-popular-level-2-residential-charging-stations/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Np2CPoWJzhk

Is the i3 more like a coupe in practice than a 4 door sedan?

I own a Mazda B4000 pickup and a Saturn Ion and I would say that it so much easier to get into the back seats than a coupe. The front doors are also shorter, like a 4 door so it is also easier to get in the fronts seats if someone parks too close too you. You can also close the front door after...

I am probably going to pass on the i3...

As I’ve noted in another post my city’s only BMW dealer is not going to be given the i3 line. I think it is because we have no government incentives in Manitoba. The 3 provinces that do have incentives are getting the i3 to sell. That’s too bad for me, but at least now I know and can move on...

BMW i Wallbox Pure - hidden costs!

It is too much money of course, but for that distance you probably need a much heavier and expensive gauge of wire than to go 15 meters.

    Battery charging : Best practice

The i3 will not be available in my area, at least not for a couple of years, but I too was planning on only charging every two or three days, but hoping to still be able to precondition the batteries and heat the cabin. I hope someone can answer David’s question.

    Canada

The sales manager was quite sure of the Toronto and Montreal sites, but not so sure of the Alberta site. There are no Federal incentives for buying a BEV in Canada, but three provinces [states] do give incentives, Quebec, Ontario, and British Columbia so it would make sense that the third...

    Canada

Well , I just got off the phone with the Winnipeg BMW dealership's sales manager and he gave the bad news: there will only be 3 dealerships in Canada selling the i3 and they will be in Montreal, Toronto, and either Calgary or Edmonton. I have been put on a list and he will update me monthly...

    Memory Power Seats and Mirrors

I agree that my first purchase of a high end vehicle without some of the standard features of similarly priced cars is more than just a disappointment. The chemo treatment that I am going through makes my hands super sensitive to the cold and more than that; heated seats and steering wheel...

    Sunroof Information

I asked this same question on the Plugshare website and this was Tom’s very clear answer. The sunroof does slide back. There are two distinct openings from inside the car with a roof divider between them but the sunroof slides open as one piece. The driver or passenger can pull a roll out sun...

    Seat Heating - individually controllable?

Thank you very much AndyW. I assume that the button just to the right is to open the glove box?

    Seat Heating - individually controllable?

My wife and I often drive alone to shop [her] or geocache [me] and so I’m wondering if the seat heaters can be controlled individually. I can’t tell from the option picture or description.

    Canada

I’m off to see my local [only] BMW dealer tomorrow to find out if they are even going to sell the i3. Has anyone in other parts of Canada heard when the i3 will be sold in their cities?

    Charging over the pavement

Do people normally run cables over the pavement in your city? It is -34C here right now and people who park on the street would like to plug in their car block heaters overnight. It is against the law and you could get ticketed. If it’s on a quiet residential street and you can run the cord...
