i3 Remote App - Help!

Got my EV i3 today!

Just playing with the remote app and I am a bit puzzled.

I don't have the fan icon to configure preheat that I have seen in some online images.

I can see the status of the car, e.g. doors locked, lights off but I can't see a way to change that status like some have said you can.

I can't find anywhere to set the preheat schedule either, it just says 'no time active'

Help! Hopefully I am just being dumb and haven't swiped in the right place...

Hi Mike - I have the connected drive activated and the app connects to the car. I just seem to be missing some of the functionality.

Hi, in order to be able to send commands to the car (pre-heat, flash light, horn, etc) you must enable "Remote Services". To do so, you must go to your ConnectedDrive portal, then
Settings>Security Settings>Activate Remote Services. At one point, you'll be prompted to set a security question, but I don't remember weather it is after or before activating Remote Services.

So, in order to run the app I need to a ConnectedDrive account set up? Is that done via the "Owners" section of the BMW website? I've just completed the form but it says it'll take a few days to process.

Nope. In the UK, you should go here : https://www.bmw-connecteddrive.co.uk
You'll need your VIN number (last 7 characters of you chassis number)
