OBD PIDs and Battery Temp

Hello All,

Forum noob here, so please fogive me for any transgressions. I have tried searching here but no joy, hence this question.

I am doing some initial research looking at the possibility of creating some sort of plugin gague that will show the main battery temp. The route I am initially looking at is via the OBD-II port. Does anyone know if there is a PID that will give the current battery temperature?

That information is likely in the BMW unique CANBUS data, so you'd need an OBD-II device that also has the BMW data decoding capability. I've not looked for it, but if it's there, that would likely be the only way to get it.
