    Check Engine Light

I've actually been having good luck running mid grade (with ethanol) fuel in my i3. I used to get tons of CEL when it was cold when the REX first started up because it had the slightest hesitation. Since the lower octane burns faster, it doesn't hesitate and I've not had any CEL.

    The funky headlight dance?

I've wondered about the lights as well. They certainly don't seem to be leveling themselves out while driving over small rises & dips. The only time I see them move is when I first start the car and they initialize.

    Accident repairs

Evidently, roof repair is a big deal. My original i3 had two 1/8" holes drilled in one of the A pillars (long, long, story). The end result was that BMW said the entire roof of the car had to be cut off and a new one bonded back on. The dealer that was going to do it was in the middle of...

    Tire pressures- what's best?

I'm glad to hear other people saying the pressure sensors are off. That has been my experience as well.

    i Remote App not updating

I had the same problem. The fix for me was to remove the car from the connected drive portal and re add it. This causes a code to be sent to the idrive in the car. You retrieve the code and enter it in the website. Once I did that, everything worked.

    Remote Services via iRemote App

Try deleting the car in the connected drive portal and re adding it. I could log into the app but it would not retrieve the status. This fixed it for me.

    Crack in front windscreen

Let me share my tale of woe. My 2014 i3 had Rex issues - it was at the dealer for over 48 business days and even had the entire engine replaced. While they were working on Rex, they took it for a test drive and a rock hit the windshield and cracked it. They said they would replace the...

    Wheel Center Cap

I bought my winter tires from TireRack.com. I got the Rial rims. They came with their own caps.

    Frunk You!

I must have a freak i3 but after many storms and multiple car washes, my frunk has never gotten wet.

    Check Engine Light

I thought I'd post a follow up. I took the car in and the CEL was for a misfire on cylinder 1. The tech ran the Rex for about 15 min and when it didn't repro, cleared the fault and chalked it up to bad gas and a cold, sluggish engine. Well, the light came back on 2 days later. This time...

i3 Subtleties (not mentioned in the owner's manual)

I noticed the same thing. I don't think it a purposeful white noise. I think it might be signal processing / electronics stuff on the car. Maybe the speed controller or something. It's definitely noticeable though.

Actual usage of DC charger on a REx

I skipped the DC option on my Rex for this very reason. The closest DC charger to me is over 350 miles away. I don't think they will be popping up on ever corner in Idaho anytime soon.

    Extended Warranty

I went for a 3 year lease so I skipped the warranty. In the past, I've always bought the warranty on my other cars. Maybe I pick crappy cars but I've always gotten my money's worth with the warranty. For example, my 2011 GMC Acadia is on its 4th power steering pump!! If, at the end of my...

Loss of range in cold weather

I've definitely noticed the range change with the temp. Unfortunately, I bought my car the end of Nov. so I've never seen the "good" range. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll be doing the happy dance in the spring when I hit 80+ miles.
